Grady Farnan is excited to be on the ballot for re-election for the 2025 Electoral season and is eager return as your Glen Cove City Councilman and to keep the momentum going on Team Panzenbeck!  He is a lifelong resident of Glen Cove and is deeply rooted within the Glen Cove community in a multitude of facets; he was raised with an appreciation of the historical foundations of the city; went through the Glen Cove school system; raised his three children Remi, Gillian, and Shelbie in Glen Cove alongside his wife, Camille.

Grady volunteers with many organizations, has learned from pivotal leaders of the city, and was given the ability to thrive in the Glen Cove community since a young age, attributes he hopes to provide for both current and future residents.

Grady graduated from Adelphi University in 1984 with a bachelor's in Business Administration and Finance. He utilized his education to propel his 35-year career in the insurance industry and is currently employed at the County Attorney’s Office as an Insurance Technician. His background in research, auditing, and knowledge of safety maintenance and insurance for buildings, public work projects, parks, and other properties is very beneficial to the taxpayers of Nassau.

You can still find Grady throughout Glen Cove, whether it is at Glen Cove Fitness getting in his early morning workout, working alongside his co-head Usher Jerry Capobianco at St. Patrick’s Church, supporting Glen Cove Junior Lacrosse as a Founding Father of the organization and former Treasurer and as official score and time clock keeper, brushing up on his rollerblading at the Waterfront, and lending a helping hand at the Junior League of Long Island in The Village of Roslyn where both of his daughters are active members.

Grady has a deep love and appreciation for his hometown – which is a core value of his pride and purpose for his re-election to office.  He was originally appointed to City Council after former Councilman Joe Capobianco was elected to City Court Judge, replacing longtime Judge Richard McCord. This re-ignited Grady’s strong commitment and passionate service to the city! He believes in the diversity of the city and is hopeful in using his active listening and problem-solving skills to maintain a balance of rooted pride and history of Glen Cove with the progress and modernization that the city needs to thrive in the current climate at the state and local level.

Some of his continued key values in running for office are:

·       Continue to hold the line of taxes

·       Continue to work diligently for preserving and progressing the safety and quality of life in Glen Cove

·       Continue to maintain strong leadership and open lines of communication with constituents and key partners in City Hall

·       Showcase our waterfront and business districts with current and future businesses for growth

·       Improve upon recreation facilities for all city’s population

·       Continue to work with the Beatification on all volunteer projects to brighten up our city

Grady’s continued philosophy is simple: give back what was afforded to him but, be a

visionary for the continued change and success of this great community!
