Ellen Pantazakos

Ellen Pantazakos is honored to be a candidate for the Glen Cove City Council.

Glen Cove isn’t just where Ellen lives—it’s where she was born and raised. It’s the city her family called home after immigrating to the United States with nothing but hope and determination. As the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents, Ellen faced early challenges—especially in school, where she learned English while working hard to keep up with her peers. However, Glen Cove shaped her. Through resilience and dedication, she graduated from Glen Cove High School and furthered her education at Hofstra University.

That same work ethic has defined Ellen’s life. Together with her brother Peter, she helps operate the family business as real estate owners and property managers. Their shared commitment to Glen Cove is grounded in integrity, accountability, and a deep love for the community. It’s one of the many reasons Ellen has long supported Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck’s vision for Glen Cove—and why she is stepping forward now to do more.

Ellen’s dedication to Glen Cove also stems from her strong roots in faith and culture. A founding family member of the Holy Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church, she has been involved in youth programs and charitable outreach from a young age—organizing fundraisers, supporting the elderly, and delivering donations to those in need, both locally and abroad. Today, she continues to serve as Chairperson of the annual Greek Festival at Garvies Point, where thousands gather to celebrate the heritage and diversity that enrich Glen Cove.

Life has also presented Ellen with personal challenges. When her father’s health declined, she stepped away from public life to become his full-time caregiver. For over a decade, she served as his healthcare advocate while continuing to manage the family business. Those years were difficult but transformative, teaching her vital skills in leadership, responsibility, and compassion.

During that time, Ellen also developed strong working relationships across City Hall—including with staff in planning, zoning, and public works— gaining a first-hand understanding of how the city operates. For the past three years, she has proudly served on the Glen Cove Planning Board, helping guide the city’s development through thoughtful strategy and community focused vision.

Ellen is running for City Council because she believes in Glen Cove’s future. She envisions a city that respects its history while embracing progress—a place that is clean, safe, welcoming, and full of opportunity for every resident. If elected, Ellen Pantazakos will:

• Support smart development that respects Glen Cove’s neighborhoods while encouraging new business growth

• Advocate for recreational programs and facilities that serve residents of all ages • Work to keep Glen Cove clean, safe, and beautiful

 • Champion transparency, fiscal responsibility, and strong communication between City Hall and the community

• Celebrate and protect the rich diversity that defines Glen Cove

Ellen Pantazakos is proud to call Glen Cove home and is ready to give back in an even greater capacity. Her life has been shaped by family, faith, hard work, and public service—and she looks forward to putting those values to work for the residents of Glen Cove. Let’s work together to keep Glen Cove shining.
